As a part of YMCA of Northern Alberta, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a protected aquatic environment while conducting swimming lessons. This position entails monitoring swimmers and engaging with participants to track their progress in a friendly, inclusive setting. You will implement safety protocols and provide timely feedback to members and parents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver swim lessons to diverse participant groups
• Actively monitor the pool area at all times
• Communicate participants' progress and needs
• Enforce safety regulations and aid in emergencies
• Record attendance and ensure cleanliness of aquatics areas
Requirements:
• Minimum 16 years of age with specific supervision
• CPR-C and Standard First Aid certifications
• Required National Lifeguard certification within a year
• YMCA Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Instructor certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
