You will have the chance to contribute to intelligent camera surveillance systems through product management of our fixed camera devices for the Avigilon and Pelco portfolio of cameras and sensors
Reporting to the Group Product Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of one or more assigned areas within the video devices hardware team
We are the dynamic team behind the cameras and sensors that are a critical component in the company’s overall solutions
We’re responsible for delivering a seamless solution that makes our entire end-to-end product ecosystem shine
Our mission is to relentlessly drive maximum business impact and deliver unparalleled customer value, from installation through day-to-day monitoring and event management
Like all positions in the Product Management organization, this role will be responsible for the continued expansion of video analytics and AI into the product portfolio
The successful candidate will take ownership of a segment of the team’s portfolio and be a key contributor to strategic initiatives
This position requires extensive collaboration with external customers and partners, as well as a variety of internal stakeholders
These include other camera hardware and video management system product managers, firmware and software engineers, and marketing professionals




The primary focus of these partnerships will be to deliver innovative camera solutions and supporting tools that are vital for both retaining and growing revenue of our devices and VMS portfolio
Market:
Being the voice of the market and customer within the organization
Develop a thorough understanding of the needs of the physical security market by conducting market research supported by on-going collaboration with customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders for our key verticals and geographic markets
Deeply understanding the competitive environment and our product competitive position
Product Roadmap:
Working with the product management team to define a clear product vision for your respective area that ties into the overarching strategy
Defining the who, what, why, where, and when (but not the how) for your assignments and champion that within the organization and ensure all decisions are consistent with that vision
Work with engineering and technology teams to conduct research into new areas and create creative solutions
Product Life-Cycle:
Own and manage elements of the devices portfolio throughout the entire product life cycle
Develop and maintain the business case for each project and/or major feature enhancement including revenue projections and project ROI
Liaise requirements between the extended product management team and respective engineering teams
Continually monitor product performance and take action accordingly
Create presentations for various stakeholders to communicate changes, new releases and product end of life
Validate sales forecast working with Finance, Planning and Analysis
Field Engagement:




Garner technical product knowledge, respond to field inquiries and escalations
Work closely with training teams to develop material and sales tools for internal and partner training courses

At least 5+ years of Product Management experience with hardware device development lifecycles in a mature NPI process as part of a global organizationProject management experience would be an assetStrong analytical skills are requiredExceptional critical thinker, decisive, ability to anticipate market trends, evaluate trade-offs and risk in a manner that results in a well thought out strategyExceptional written communication skills in support of vision and market definitionsStrong oral communication skills. Must be able to effectively present ideas, roadmap elements, status updates and/or proposals to upper levels of management, including non-technical staffSelf-motivated, with the ability to learn quickly and independentlyExceptional relationship skills that support strong sustained interaction with customers, prospects, industry leaders, and the development organizationBachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experienceCandidates will possess both technical and business acumenExperience managing large, complex product portfolios in a global business environmentMBA or equivalent training desiredFamiliarity with physical video security cameras, video management systems, video analytics, AI applications in video, and IP networking
