The afternoon shift Quality Assurance Assistant is responsible for ensuring a high level of order accuracy throughout the warehouse by ensuring strong quality assurance procedures are followed and maintained. This role is responsible for supporting warehouse quality programs, conducting quality audits and order verifications, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting continuous improvement activities across warehouse operations.

The Quality Assurance Assistant contributes directly to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by helping ensure products are picked, packed, inventoried, and shipped accurately while maintaining compliance with all company and provincial health and safety standards.

Please note that this role supports the afternoon warehouse shift, and hours of work are from 3pm to 11:30pm Monday through Friday.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of warehouse quality assurance programs





Coordinating quality assurance activities with warehouse leadership and responding to quality-related questions and concerns

Performing quality checks on customer orders to ensure right-first-time order picking and packing accuracy

Counting and monitoring warehouse inventory to ensure physical stock aligns with system balances

Conducting inventory reviews and material assessments utilizing SAP and other warehouse systems

Organizing products according to established warehouse procedures and locating misplaced inventory

Reporting inventory discrepancies and assisting with investigations related to overages, shortages, damaged, or inconsistent product

Maintaining error logs used to support employee coaching and continuous operational improvement

Working collaboratively with warehouse personnel to identify root causes and resolve inventory discrepancies

Supporting the implementation and sustainability of East Penn Canada's Lean Distribution initiatives

Providing coaching to warehouse personnel on policies, procedures, and quality standards as required

Supporting the coordination and tracking of departmental operational metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis

Following all company policies, procedures, and provincial regulations, including Health & Safety requirements, WHMIS, TDG, Workers' Compensation, and Labour Board regulations

Identifying, reporting, and escalating workplace hazards, safety concerns, and potential health and safety risks

Providing back-up support to warehouse and product maintenance functions as operationally required

Contributing to a positive team environment through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a strong customer service focus

Maintaining a professional appearance and company uniform in accordance with company standards

2+ years of experience in a quality assurance, inventory control, or related role, within a warehousing or manufacturing environment

Experience conducting audits,



cycle counts, inventory counts, or quality inspections

Experience using SAP or similar ERP/warehouse management systems considered an asset

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems and applications

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions

Strong communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking) in English

Customer-focused approach with a sense of urgency when responding to internal and external customer needs

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a rapid-paced distribution environment

Willingness and ability to occasionally lift and/or move loads up to 50 lbs

Forklift certification considered an asset

Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude

Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative warehouse environment

Other Considerations:

This role supports East Penn Canada's afternoon shift, and employees must be able to work from 3pm to 11:30pm Monday to Friday

Background checks including criminal checks and employment references will be required as a condition of employment

Hiring range for this role is estimated at $22.00-24.00 hourly plus shift premium (actual salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
