Join York Hills as a Respite Worker and provide vital emotional support to children and youth facing challenges. This part-time role allows for flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to meet families' needs.
In this position, you will work closely with children coping with complex behavioural issues. Your role involves creating a nurturing setting and implementing engaging activities tailored to each child's needs. Reporting to the Coordinator of Respite Services, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that strives to make a real difference in the lives of young people in York Region.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support children with one-on-one personalized care
• Facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities
• Assess children’s emotional requirements for tailored care
• Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
• Maintain a safe and engaging environment
Requirements:
• Relevant Child and Youth Work diploma or degree
• 1-2 years’ experience in related support roles
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and vehicle access
• Recent Vulnerable Sector Screening Check required
