Be a vital part of preserving the traditional fishing practices at Xaxli’p as a seasonal Fish Monitor. Engage with the community to enforce fishing laws and protect the sacred Salmon.

The role requires six dedicated Fish Monitors to patrol the Xaxli’p Traditional Fishing Grounds. Working under the Executive Director, you’ll be responsible for communicating laws to both Xaxli’p and traditional fishermen. Candidates should be physically fit and ready to handle outdoor challenges while maintaining integrity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular patrols of fishing areas
• Document and report any fishing law violations
• Provide verbal warnings regarding violations when necessary

Requirements:
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License
• Reliable vehicle necessary for transportation
• Should be physically fit for trail climbing
• Adaptable working hours expected
• Successful candidates must pass a criminal background check
