TEACHER – LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO)

OUR LADY OF SORROWS
1.0 FTE

Learning Assistance Classroom (LAC) – Primary

E effective September 2, 2026 and not to extend beyond June 30, 2027

Mandatory Requirements:

Basic qualifications to teach in the Primary Division

Special Education Part I

Preferred Requirements:

Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions.

Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies.

Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in special education, including the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP's)

Knowledge and experience of the Identification, Placement and Review process (IPRC's)

Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents.

Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies for both Literacy and Numeracy

Knowledge and experience in supporting comprehensive (structured) literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction and individualized educational programming.





Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies and facilitate differentiated instruction.

Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement.

Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties.

Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school workplace would be an asset.
