We're not just about insurance; we're about making a real difference by protecting what matters most.The opportunity We are looking for a Casualty Specialist to handle Bodily Injury (BI) claims in our Protect Claims department, some of which are in litigation, and provide outstanding service to our customers.The successful candidate will have a multifaceted personality and thrive within an inspiring culture. They will seek out challenges in order to continually improve their knowledge and skills, while providing the best-in-class service to the end customer.The primary role in Protect Claims is to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle Bodily Injury claims in accordance with Aviva's procedures and philosophy.Aviva recognizes the importance of being adaptable and the benefits of being together, this role will be hybrid – the best of both worlds.What you'll do Interpret and confirm insurance coverage using background knowledge of relevant case law combined with a thorough understanding of policy wordingsInvestigate,



evaluate and settle a diverse claim pending of litigated and non-litigated filesDevelop appropriate strategy to direct handle files to conclusion and/or teach Independent Adjusters as neededEnsure file reserves are set on a timely and accurate basis, in line with company protocolsMaintain control over expenses through pro-active handling techniquesOn litigated files, work in partnership with defence counsel to develop and implement strategies for bringing files to a timely and cost effective resolutionProvide excellent customer and partner communication on claim mattersClearly document and summarize file activityUnderstand and adhere to Aviva's claim procedures and guidelinesProvide superior customer service to our clients and partnersWhat you'll bring 4 -10 years' experience handling bodily injury claimsAbility to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong working knowledge of third party liability claims (Bodily Injury, Property, and Auto Physical Damage litigation)Mediation, Pre-Trial and Trial experienceExcellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsSuperior organizational skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skillsAdaptability, flexibility,



willingness to learn and integrityCommitted team player with a positive outlookPost-Secondary education in a related fieldCIP designation would be an assetWhat you'll get The salary band for this position ranges from $68,500 to $118,400.
