WE?RE HIRING YOUTH SUPPORT WORKER(S)
The Youth Safe Lodge provides a safe, welcoming workplace for youth ages 16?26, including drop-in services, overnight shelter, transitional housing, and connections to community supports.
We are seeking compassionate, respectful, and dependable Youth Support Worker(s) to join our team.
What You?ll Do
Welcome youth into a safe, culturally respectful space
Build trusting relationships through consistency and respect
Support daily needs, goals, wellness, and independence
Assist during conflict, crisis, and challenging situations
Connect youth with housing, health, cultural, educational, and community resources
Encourage healthy choices, self-determination, and personal growth
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming Lodge environment
Complete documentation and shift reports
Participate in programming, cultural activities, and community events
Work collaboratively with staff, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, families, and community partners
Use trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and strengths-based approaches
What We?re Looking For
We?re looking for someone who is:
Compassionate, patient, respectful, and non-judgmental
Comfortable supporting youth experiencing homelessness, trauma, addictions, mental health challenges,
or other complex circumstances
A strong communicator and dependable team member
Able to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm during challenging situations
Reliable, flexible, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Committed to Indigenous cultural safety, inclusion, and respect
Experience, education, lived experience, and cultural knowledge related to youth or social services will be considered. Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and community resources is an asset. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply.
