Contribute to the execution of EDC’s 2030 Corporate Plan
Prospect, develop, maintain, and manage a portfolio of current and prospective clients in the mid-market segment
Research and assess EDC’s prospective clients
Build trusted relationships with clients and determine how to make a positive impact on their businesses and markets
Assess cross-selling opportunities for current clients
Coordinate EDC resources to provide product solutions and predictable service delivery to clients
Promote EDC’s capabilities in the region among financial intermediaries and other influential stakeholders
Leverage and develop EDC’s network to identify prospective clients
Identify and qualify prospective clients and promote EDC’s full value proposition to exporters
Assess clients’ export financing, risk management, and other needs, and identify appropriate solutions
Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts and develop territory-based account strategies and plans
Manage the progress of designated portfolios and help facilitate transactions
Monitor the transaction pipeline and participate in transaction facilitation
Execute projects, initiatives, and activities related to the market coverage mandate
Develop strategies and plans covering the designated territories and markets
Identify market trends and intelligence observed in the territory to develop regional or sectoral strategies
Act as a problem-solving resource for current and prospective clients
Use negotiation strategies and manage interactions in a positive and professional manner
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance,
commerce, or another relevant discipline
At least 5 years of experience in business development and commercial lending in international trade or financial services
Knowledge of best practices in strategic sales or account management
Established network in the province of British Columbia
Valid driver’s licence
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application (Canadian citizens or permanent residents)
Candidates must meet government security requirements
