As a Technical Specialist in Codes and Standards - Sustainability, you will provide key technical insights and assessments on sustainability-related regulations. Your role involves monitoring codes, evaluating life cycle assessments, and representing CWC in vital discussions with organizations like CSA and ISO. You'll also contribute to significant frameworks on embodied carbon and play an essential part in advancing industry perspectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor sustainability codes and regulations affecting wood products
• Track standards related to life cycle assessment and embodied carbon
• Represent CWC in technical committees and forums
• Support development of environmental assessment methodologies
• Build solid relationships with industry stakeholders
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in forestry, environmental science, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in sustainability or standards development
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
• Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally
