Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management
Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry
Prepare design documents and compile engineering packages
Analyze structural systems and elements using ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI and other structural programs
Ensure compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations and adequacy of design for permits and approved plans
Deliver engineering deliverables and tasks within specified timelines and budgets
Provide technical instructions to junior staff or designers
Review and comment on others' work for accuracy, completeness and quality
Participate in formal engineering design and other mandated reviews
Perform plant walkdowns as required to support design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications
Requirements
Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University
minimum 8 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings
Must be Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada
Preferably registered as a Skilled Engineer in the Province of Ontario
3 to 5 years of site or field experience in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset
Experience with static,
dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations
Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset
Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines and procedures is an asset
Knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset
