As an Urban Forester – Landscape Technician II, you will contribute to a vibrant urban forest, managing contractor operations and leading vital tree assessments. Your role integrates arboricultural expertise with public service, helping community members understand the importance of trees in urban infrastructure. You will also apply and enforce tree management policies, leveraging your solid technical background.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert consultation on tree preservation strategies
• Administer operational contracts for tree management tasks
• Conduct tree risk assessments and health evaluations
• Oversee site inspections for landscape compliance
• Deliver educational outreach on urban forestry practices
Requirements:
• Degree in Forestry or related field with 5 years of experience
• Minimum 2 years in Urban Forestry
• ISA Certified Arborist credential
• TRAQ certification
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
