Make a meaningful impact on animal welfare at the University of Alberta as an Associate University Veterinarian. Oversee veterinary care and maintain compliance within a vibrant academic community.

In this pivotal role, you will support the University’s Animal Care and Use program while ensuring excellence in research. Your veterinary leadership will facilitate compliance with regulations from the Canadian Council on Animal Care and other bodies. Collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure responsible animal use across research and teaching activities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Administer expert veterinary care and consultation
• Ensure adherence to CCAC and CALAM standards
• Engage with animal care leadership and research teams




• Participate in emergency veterinary rotations
• Promote ethical use of animals in diverse research settings

Requirements:
• DVM or equivalent veterinary qualification
• Background in laboratory animal veterinary practice
• Comprehensive knowledge of care standards
• Robust interpersonal and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility for emergency on-call duties

Provide essential veterinary care and leadership at the University of Alberta, enhancing research and teaching initiatives in Edmonton.
