The General Manager of Sally Creek Lifestyle Homes is responsible for the overall performance of the homebuilding division, including construction execution, financial performance, sales oversight, and operational systems.This role leads a small, cross‑functional team and oversees all aspects of the business, from sales to pre‑construction through to final occupancy, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with company quality standards and customer expectations.The General Manager plays a critical role in improving margins, implementing scalable systems, and supporting the controlled growth of the business.Key Responsibilities:Business Operations & ExecutionOversee day‑to‑day operations of the homebuilding division across all active projectsEnsure alignment between construction, sales, design, and administrative functionsIdentify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements to drive performanceProvide leadership and direction to the Project Managers, and site teamConstruction ExecutionOversee day‑to‑day construction activities across multiple sites to ensure alignment with project schedules and milestonesPrepare detailed construction estimates including quantity take‑offs, cost analysis, and budget development for residential projectsEstablish and maintain detailed construction schedules, sequencing, and critical path trackingMonitor site productivity and ensure appropriate allocation of labour, materials, and equipmentProactively identify and resolve construction challenges, delays, and coordination issuesFinancial Performance & Cost ControlDevelop, monitor, and manage project budgets, including forecasting and variance analysisOwn and manage division‑level P&L performanceMonitor job costing, margins,
and variance reporting across all projectsIdentify cost risks and implement strategies to improve gross marginsWork closely with accounting on reporting, forecasting, and cash flow managementSales, Product & Customer Experience OversightOversee sales pipeline and performanceSupport pricing strategy in collaboration with ownershipOversee product design, specifications, and consistency across homesEnsure a high‑quality customer experience from initial sale through warrantyProvide direction and oversight to site supervisors and field staffCoordinate and manage subcontractors and trades to ensure performance, accountability, and adherence to scopeLead regular site meetings, including scheduling, coordination, and safety discussionsPromote clear communication across all stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency on‑siteQuality Assurance & Deficiency ManagementImplement and enforce quality control processes at all stages of constructionConduct site inspections and milestone reviews to ensure work meets design intent and company standardsManage deficiency tracking, resolution, and closeout in a timely mannerEnsure consistency in product delivery across all homes and developmentsSchedule & Performance ManagementTrack project progress against established timelines and key milestonesIdentify schedule risks and implement recovery plans where requiredProvide regular reporting on construction progress, budget status,
and key issuesDrive accountability for schedule adherence across internal teams and tradesHealth & Safety ComplianceEnsure all construction activities comply with OHSA and Sierra Construction’s health and safety policiesPromote a strong safety culture across all job sitesConduct or support site safety inspections and ensure corrective actions are implementedEnsure all trades and personnel adhere to site safety requirements and protocolsStakeholder Coordination & CommunicationAct as the primary liaison between construction, development, and other internal departmentsCoordinate with consultants, inspectors, and municipal authorities as requiredProvide transparent and consistent updates to senior leadership on project status, risks, and performanceSupport customer‑facing teams in resolving construction‑related inquiries or issues when requiredProject CloseoutOversee final stages of construction, including inspections, deficiencies, and occupancy readinessEnsure all documentation, warranties, and closeout requirements are completed accuratelyCoordinate handover processes to customer service and warranty teamsSupport continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and opportunities for process enhancementAdhere to all company policies and proceduresPerform any other duties that may be assigned, whether specifically or generally related to the roleRequired Knowledge and Experience:Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline7–10+ years of progressive experience in residential construction, including low‑rise home buildingDemonstrated experience managing multiple projects or subdivisions simultaneouslyStrong understanding of Ontario Building Code, municipal requirements, and residential construction practicesExperience working with production home building processes and schedules is preferredProficiency with construction management and scheduling software (e.G., MS Project, or similar)Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites#J-18808-Ljbffr
