Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer with 5+ years of hands-on enterprise ServiceNow development experience, including ITSM, IRM/GRC, and CSM. This is a 1-year contract opportunity with an organization in the energy sector based in Calgary, Alberta. The role is hybrid, with 3 days per week onsite in Calgary.
Project Overview Our client uses ServiceNow to support a variety of business processes and has implemented ITSM, IRM/GRC, and CSM. They are continuing to expand their ServiceNow capabilities, including additional CSM functionality to support evolving stakeholder and business requirements. Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Cloud Platforms, our client is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to join their energetic technology team. The ideal candidate will serve as a senior technical resource and subject matter expert, leading the design, development, and implementation of complex ServiceNow solutions while providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Working closely with business stakeholders, platform administrators, architects, and project teams, this individual will be responsible for delivering enterprise-scale ServiceNow initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, improve service delivery, and support organizational objectives. This role is responsible for providing development, configuration, integration, and technical guidance across ServiceNow applications. The successful candidate will perform hands-on configuration and development, establish development standards, participate in architectural reviews, and ensure solutions align with business requirements, cybersecurity controls, and ServiceNow best practices. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive ServiceNow expertise to deliver scalable, sustainable, and maintainable solutions while promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence across the platform team.
Must Haves Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering,



Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in an enterprise Environment
Experience with ServiceNow ITSM, IRM/GRC and CSM
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is required
One or more advanced ServiceNow certifications preferred, such as: Certified Application Developer (CAD) CIS-ITSM CIS-CSM CIS-GRC/IRM Certified Technical Architect (CTA) pathway certifications.
Experience leading the technical delivery of ServiceNow projects and enhancements
Solid understanding of ServiceNow security, data models, CMDB and platform governance
Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, Glide APIs, business rules, client scripts, Flow Designer and integrations
Experience designing scalable solutions and translating business requirements into designs
Experience with platform upgrades, release management and testing practices
Nice to Haves Experience in the energy or utilities industry.
Responsibilities Lead the design, development and implementation of ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, IRM/GRC and CSM.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers, administrators and project teams.
Design and build workflows, automations, integrations and custom applications.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex platform and integration issues.
Conduct code reviews and support testing, deployments and platform upgrades.
Ensure solutions align with ServiceNow best practices, security requirements and enterprise standards.
Drive continuous improvement and share knowledge across the team.
