ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: McDougall Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Analytics Engineer to join our Business Analytics & Reporting team. Reporting to the Manager, Business Analytics and Reporting, this role is responsible for building and supporting end-to-end analytics solutions, from data integration and modeling to dashboard development and reporting, helping drive consistent, data-informed decisions across the organization.
This position offers meaningful exposure to ERP systems, cross functional processes, and continuous improvement initiatives, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a solid, well‑rounded career.
Responsibilities Include: Building and maintaining curated analytical datasets
Creating dimensional models, fact/dimension tables and data marts
Writing and optimizing SQL views
Establishing reusable datasets that can feed Tableau and other Business Intelligence tools
Creating consistent definitions for metrics and business logic
Data quality testing and validation
Creating documentation and data lineage
Working with Business Analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data structures




Preparing the organization for future front-end/visualization technologies
Key contributor in the establishment of a centralized reporting framework
ABOUT YOU: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or Business
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance would be considered an asset
Five (5) to ten (10) years’ proven experience working within analytics
Experience working with Tableau, advanced SQL, data modelling, DBT and cloud data platforms
Strong proficiency working with Microsoft Office; specifically in Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
Demonstrated ability to manage in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage a high volume of data; with strong attention to detail
Excellent time management and organization skills; ability to effectively prioritize and committed to deadlines
Experience working with a large ERP system is an asset
Ability to regularly work within our Sault Ste Marie, ON Head Office

We offer a comprehensive total rewards package including:
Salary Range: $100,000 - $105,000 per year
