Support student speech development as a temporary Speech Language Assistant in the District with School District No. 48 (Sea to Sky). Work from September 2026 to June 2027 delivering hands-on language therapy.
As a Speech Language Assistant, you will work closely with the Director of Instruction and Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). Your responsibilities include evaluating students, assisting in IEP development, and providing both one-on-one and group treatment. Effective teamwork and communication with families are essential components of your role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with student screening and assessment procedures
• Help develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate on language intervention programs
• Deliver direct treatment services to students
• Track and report on student progress toward targets
Requirements:
• Grade 12 plus a diploma as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant
• At least one year of relevant experience
• Understanding of Truth and Reconciliation applications
• Robust interpersonal communication skills
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License
