(Internal Title:Project Controls V)

Independently lead a team of Cost or Schedule or Estimating or Risk and other Project Controls personnel in a coordinated manner on high-risk, large-sized projects or program or on a similar scale portfolio of small-to-medium projects within a business unit to meet project or program requirements

Manage the work of project staff under their project supervision, such that project control services are completed as planned

Performs department organizational, administrative, and staff management activities in addition to providing guidance, leadership, and training to others on project or program-level tasks

Implement, manage, and apply typical and appropriate means and methods of Project Controls processes and interfaces from the inception of the project or program portfolio to the completion

Direct the Project Controls services and ensure the work is fully supported from a project controls standpoint in an integrated, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective manner

Organize the Project Controls activities per the short and long-term mission, goals, and success criteria for the project

Develop a budget and operating or delivery plan for the Project Controls services in consultation with the project or program team and when required the client

Outline the human and material resources required to successfully deliver the Project Controls services

Manage the Project Controls team per the project or program plans

Guide, delegate responsibilities, and leverage a diverse array of talents within a large Project Controls team (may consist of multi-firm resources and client resources)

Ensure goals are met including customer satisfaction and team member performance

Define the success criteria and disseminate them to the involved parties

Oversee the interface between client, consultants, and all associated service providers at all levels of the engagement model





Manage senior-level customer relationships together with the Project Manager

Execute changes and interventions to ensure service goals are achieved

Facilitate regular meetings with clients, third parties, and managers to assess progress, resolve critical issues and mitigate risk, and understand and negotiate scope changes

Review and ensure adherence to the operating or delivery plan scope, schedule, milestones, budgets, and KPIs on the project portfolio and address issues with corrective actions as appropriate while raising red flags as needed

Develop and deliver accurate and timely progress reports, proposals, and presentations to various audiences, including the project team, client senior executives, key stakeholders, and operations throughout the project life cycle

Formulate evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of the project or program and identify areas for improvement

Contribute to setting and interpreting transparent and focused performance objectives and expectations for the project or program while delegating and managing deliverables with team members

Build and maintain a positive, high-performing team culture with an openness to constructive challenge, continuous improvement, implementation of lessons learned, and an overall ‘right-first-time” mindset

Reinforce acceptable standards of workmanship and assess compliance with the project agreement and best practices through every stage of the work

Supervise and guide staff on clear and focused performance objectives (including non-company resources) to ensure excellence in results

Provide technical guidance and training to members of the team appropriate to their area of accountability

Clarify internal quality control checks and resolve quality issues for the project

Working Conditions

Office-based (4 Days a week in Office)

Experience

Minimum of 15 years of experience in Project Controls in a Rail Transit Project or Large Capital Infrastructure program

Minimum of 5 years experience managing a team in a senior role

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Program, Project, or Commercial Management or a related field

Licenses OR Certifications

Must be holding recognized certification with one or more of these professional institutions: Project Management Institute (PMI), American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE)

Skills and Competencies

Expert knowledge in Scheduling Software (P6 etc.), Cost Software (Ecosys, etc.), Estimating software, Risk software (ARM), etc.





Skilled in setting up effective Project Controls systems and procedures

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Excellent competency in identifying and minimizing risks

Ability to detect and promote others' strengths

Strong supervision, delegation, and capacity development

Must continue professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies in Project Controls and Project Management software

Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices

Experience in negotiating favorable terms under contracts

Ability to arrange priorities and elevate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership

Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities

Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)

Exceptional people skills and ability to communicate effectively with various levels of stakeholders

Demonstrated capability to lead large Project Controls team, supervise, delegate, and develop capacity

Ability to work autonomously and interface with a wide cross-section of personnel

Experienced in leading, engaging, coaching, and mentoring a team

Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships within various teams, partners, and clients

Tact to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension

Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence

Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation, based on full-time employment, for roles that may be hired as set forth below.

The recruiting efforts for this position are intended to fill a new position.

The base pay range shown below is intended as a guideline to reflect the majority of offers for this role. It does not represent a maximum limit — in some cases, actual compensation may exceed the range where appropriate.

Role Location Annual Salary Range

British Columbia $141,000 to $211,000
