The Role The Manager, Financial Reporting, is responsible for the preparation, review, and analysis of the company’s partner financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies. The role will also support technical-related accounting, including purchase accounting, integration of new entities into the company's financial reporting processes, and implementation of new and evolving accounting standards. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting knowledge with excellent reconciliation and analytical skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
What This Role Will Do Financial Reporting & Close Ensure the accurate integration of accounting data for accounting upload companies
Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed for accounting upload companies
Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
Ensure financial statements and supporting schedules are accurate, complete, and prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and other close-related activities
Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are appropriately supported, reconciling items are identified and resolved timely, and balances are accurate and complete
Review financial results and investigate significant or unusual period-over-period variances
Reconciliation and settlement of intercompany accounts
Prepare partner distribution schedules, with consideration of accounting, tax, legal, and policy considerations
Identify and resolve accounting and reporting issues in a timely manner
Technical Accounting Ensure divisional compliance with accounting guidance as directed by corporate technical accounting team
Support accounting for business combinations and acquisitions, including purchase accounting, goodwill, and opening balance sheet preparation
Support the financial integration of new companies and business segments, including chart of accounts, close processes, controls, and reporting requirements
Audit & Compliance Support compliance with SOX requirements, where applicable
Work with internal and external auditors to respond to audit requests and provide supporting documentation
Financial Analysis Perform review of financial results, including revenue, operating expenses, and balance sheet accounts
Partner with FP&A; and business leaders to understand financial performance and key business drivers
Analyze significant balance sheet movements, aged reconciling items, and unusual account activity and work with account owners to resolve issues
Provide clear explanations of significant financial trends and variances to senior management
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA designation
Seven+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
Strong experience preparing, reviewing, and managing balance sheet reconciliations within a complex accounting environment
Experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Experience with financial statement preparation and company reporting packages
Robust understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Experience working with external and internal auditors
Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with financial ERP systems
Experience with AI tools is an asset

The expected compensation in British Columbia is: $120,000-150,000
Physical Requirements/Work Environment Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery,
etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
