Location: Dryden Recreation Complex Reports to: Manager of Recreation
Status: Term, Full Time: 40.0 hours per week for approximately six (6) months or return of incumbent.
Hourly Wage :
Internal applicant: current rate of pay for the first 30 days worked then increasing to $34.44/hour with benefits as per the IBEW Local 1730 Collective Agreement.
External applicant: The first 30 days worked $31.00/hours, after 30 days worked increase to $34.44/hour for the remainder of the term with benefits as per the Employment Standards Act.
Job Summary
To monitor and perform maintenance of all the Recreation Department facilities and equipment while representing the City of Dryden in a professional, positive image . To ensure Recreation Department facilities are clean and safe by performing routine tasks in maintaining cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance. Assisting administration in providing the best customer service.
Position Requirements
Grade 12 diploma required. A focus on trades education would be considered an asset.
Current Basic Refrigeration Certification or designated Certified Ice Technician, and Pool Operator’s Certificate would be considered assets.
Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical and plumbing
Must have an aptitude for general mechanical repair and service work.
Protected Ice Resurfacer Operator Certification would be considered an asset
Organized, able to set priorities, multitask and make decisions.
Being able to demonstrate superior problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Being able to work in a modified work week environment – including afternoons, evenings and weekends
Have and maintain a valid “G” license.
The successful applicant will be required to obtain and submit a criminal record check and driver’s abstract, at their own expense, prior to start date .
