If you've got mechanical instincts and a strong work ethic but feel like your skills aren't being put to real use, this is the role that changes that. At Hercules - a national leader in industrial lifting, rigging, material handling, and safety solutions - you'll build hands-on expertise in a craft that matters, with the coaching, team support, and growth path to take you well beyond where you are today.

We are looking for a full time Rigger Technician to join our team in Red Deer, AB .

What you'll do

Measure and build wire rope and chain slings to exact customer specifications, ensuring every fabricated product meets quality and manufacturing standards - including properly pressed sleeves

Install winch cable onto bed trucks with precision and care

Read and interpret drawings, measurements, and fabrication instructions (full training provided - no prior experience required)

Operate a hydraulic press and use a tape measure accurately as core parts of your daily workflow

Work confidently with tools and equipment including grinders, cut-off saws, cutting torches, and spoolers

Tag all outgoing shipments with the correct customer name, phone number, and order number to ensure accurate, professional fulfillment

Monitor wire rope inventory levels, communicate proactively when stock is running low, put away incoming supplies, and document usage to keep the shop running smoothly

Pitch in across other areas of the shop as needed - roughly 10% of the role - contributing to a team-oriented, team-first environment

What you'll bring

Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly in a busy shop setting

Mechanically inclined with a natural comfort around tools, equipment, and fabrication tasks

Punctual and dependable - you take deadlines seriously and follow through consistently

Strong attention to detail and a genuine safety-first mindset; you do the job right, not just fast

Solid basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure accurately - this is used every day

Good organizational habits to manage materials, documentation, and workflow without things slipping through the cracks

A valid Class 5 driver's license

Must already be legally entitled to work in Canada - we are not able to provide Permanent Residency (PR) sponsorship or immigration support for this position

Nice to have

Previous rigging or fabrication experience is a strong asset, though not required - we provide full training for the right candidate

Background in oil and gas, crane operations, or other mechanical, fabrication, or warehouse environments will help you hit the ground running

First aid certification is an asset

Forklift certification is an asset, though neither is required at hire

What we offer

Competitive compensation reflective of your experience and contribution

Registered Pension Plan (RPP) with generous 5% employer matching after one year - a meaningful investment in your future

Comprehensive health and dental benefits with shared costs

A consistent, balanced schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A fun, engaging workplace where the team genuinely enjoys showing up

A supportive, safety-first environment where doing things right is always the priority

Ongoing training to sharpen your skills - not just at onboarding, but throughout your career here

Real opportunities for advancement: Hercules promotes from within and invests in the people who show up and grow
