Position Summary
Carpenters at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state Carpenters or Multi-Skilled Tradespeople use the skills of carpenters, drywallers and painters! If you’re passionate about helping people and skilled at making things right, this is your chance to make a real difference.

Compensation
Salary Range: $30-$34/hour
Overtime opportunities (where applicable)
On-call premium and overtime paid for rotating coverage

What You’ll Do
Finishing work and fine details, rough and trim
Installation, doors, trim, moldings, baseboards and hardware
Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
Drywall repairs, mudding, sanding, taping and finishing
Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim)
Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing
Insulation and vapour barrier installation
Cabinetry (removal, repair, reinstallation)
Flooring installation and repairs
Framing
What You Bring
3+ years doing interior carpentry repairs/restoration
Refined skills with various in-home renovation repairs/restoration/rebuild focus (flood/fire damage) vs new build
Attention to detail,



passion for quality and pride in the work you do
Tools and the skills to use them
Robust people and communication skills
A safety mindset
Willingness to cross train into other departments (Contents, Water Damage, Emergency, Demolition)
Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps and software)
Valid drivers license
Ability to pass a criminal record check
Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
