Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

The Edinburg Center is looking for a BCBA to join our DDS/DMH ASD Community Wrap Around Services Team. This is not your ordinary BCBA role!

​This is a unique opportunity for a BCBA who wants to apply their skills differently and work at the intersection of mental health and behavior. You will work with young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other serious emotional and behavioral challenges while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized, community-based support.

Who You Are:

- BCBA/LABA or close to obtaining your credential.
- You are someone who understands that behavior and mental health are often intertwined and is interested in using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in a flexible, person-centered way.
- Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and developing individualized behavioral goals and positive behavior support plans is important. Experience with the VB MAPP, ABLLS R, AFLS, or other related assessments is preferred.
- Experience working with young adults ages 18 to 26 with ASD or serious emotional and behavioral challenges is strongly valued.
- You are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, have excellent written and interpersonal skills, and can think outside the box while maintaining strong professional boundaries.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

What You Will Do:

- Use the principles of ABA to support young adults who experience challenges related to ASD and other mental health diagnoses.




- Provide individual coaching and develop Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) based on each individual’s needs.
- Participate in mental health therapy when appropriate to observe patterns of behavior and provide a behavioral perspective.
- Collaborate with families, providers, and other collateral supports involved in the young adult’s care.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes master’s level mental health clinicians, bachelor’s-level clinicians, an occupational therapist, a young adult peer mentor, and an employment specialist.
- Participate in weekly individual supervision with a BCBA and weekly group supervision with a social worker to better understand the complexities of ASD and co-occurring mental health diagnoses.
- Participate in daily team consultation and collaborate closely with team members to provide coordinated support.
- Work with flexibility and creativity while continuing to follow the principles of ABA and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

There is no minimum productivity requirement for this position.
