Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
Position Summary
The Estimator manages the full lifecycle of construction project estimation. The role involves calculating complete project costs, analyzing blueprints, and preparing comprehensive, competitive bid submissions for civil and general contracting projects.
Key Responsibilities
Quantity Take-offs: Perform detailed take-offs for construction materials, labor, and specialized equipment.
Bid Coordination: Prepare, compile, and submit accurate, timeline-sensitive tenders and proposals.
Subcontractor Management: Solicit, review, and negotiate competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
Budget Analysis: Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and addenda to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site superintendents during the pre-construction phase.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience estimating within a general contracting environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard estimating and digital take-off software.
Competencies: Strong numerical precision, excellent negotiation skills, and clear professional communication.
