Under the direct supervision of the portfolio Councillor, the Band Manager will work with the Chief and Council to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Shoal Lake Cree Nation.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Supervising all program Directors for Shoal Lake Cree Nation.
Overseeing all programs and services, budgets, personnel, and activities of the First Nation
Responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing approved strategies, policies, and business plans.
Establishing effective relationships with the membership
Collaborating effectively with outside organizations to develop and enhance governance, financial, and administrative management (i.e., ISC, FNIHB, CMHC, etc.)
Attending all Council Meetings and implementing their motions and resolutions ( as requested)
Managing all aspects of the Band Office Administration
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of First Nation’s Issues
Post-Secondary training in business, administration, management, accounting, or finance with related administrative experience
At least five years of increasingly responsible managerial/administrative experience working with a First Nation organization
Solid interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills
Ability to formulate and administer programs
