About the Role Our client is seeking a vigilant and knowledgeable Site Safety Officer to ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained on construction sites in Kimberley . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of relevant safety legislation, contributing to a secure and compliant working environment for all personnel on site and supporting the company's commitment to zero harm.
Key Responsibilities Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans and procedures.
Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to construction workers and staff.
Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with all relevant OHS Act regulations and company safety policies.
Maintain safety records, including risk assessments, incident reports, and training logs.
Requirements Registered as a Professional Practitioner in Occupational Health and Safety (Pr. OHS) or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
Thorough knowledge of South African OHS Act and construction safety regulations.
Excellent understanding of risk assessment and hazard identification techniques.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
