As a Community Connector, you will help build relationships, raise awareness, and identify opportunities for people in your community to get involved and make a meaningful difference.Your efforts will help support the hundreds of thousands of Canadians living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis today, and help move us closer to cures tomorrow.Role OverviewThe Community Connector builds meaningful connections that increase awareness, education, and promotion of fundraising opportunities within your local community.This role involves virtual and in-person interactions.This role focuses on strengthening relationships, representing Crohn’s and Colitis Canada at local events, identifying opportunities that enhance community engagement, and supporting greater participation in our fundraising initiatives.Are You the Right Fit for the Team?If you enjoy meeting new people, connecting with local businesses, and finding opportunities to bring people together, we’d love to have you on our team!The Community Connector must:Adhere to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada policies and procedures, including the Volunteer Code of ConductRepresent Crohn’s and Colitis Canada at community events, health fairs, and local gatheringsBuild and nurture relationships with local partners such as schools, service clubs,
healthcare providers, clinics, and businessesIdentify opportunities to share educational resources about Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitisSupport and strengthen local fundraising initiatives and community-led eventsPromote participation in events such as Gutsy WalkWork closely with staff partners and other volunteers to grow community engagementTime CommitmentApproximately 4–6 hours per month (versatile scheduling)Occasional evenings or weekends to attend meetings or eventsMinimum 1-year commitmentWhat You BringExperience with community outreach and networking, and comfort speaking with community members and small groupsStrong communication and relationship-building skillsExcellent attention to detail and the ability to stay organized and responsive to emerging opportunitiesA genuine interest in community engagement and building partnershipsExisting community connections are an assetAbility to take initiative and work independently while collaborating with staff and volunteersWhat We OfferA supportive volunteer communityA dedicated staff partner to provide guidance and supportTraining, roles, and resources to succeed in the roleOpportunities to develop leadership and community engagement skillsThe chance to make a meaningful difference for people living with Crohn’s and colitis in your communityGetting StartedThis position requires a conversation to discuss the role and your goals for volunteering#J-18808-Ljbffr
