Job SummaryUnit Aide – Family Newborn Care Unit, Halifax. Permanent hourly position, full time. Start ASAP.Hours of WorkMonday-Friday and weekends; 12-hour shifts. 0700-1900 or 1300-2100.ResponsibilitiesCleaning and disinfecting in accordance with Infection Control guidelines.Ensuring patient rooms are clean and tidy.Maintaining supplies and equipment required for the unit.Transporting defective equipment to Biomedical Engineering.Assisting with escort and transporting of patients.Assisting Ward Clerks in delivering requisitions, specimens, x-rays, and other items.QualificationsMinimum high school diploma or GED required.Previous Unit Aide experience preferred.Positive communication skills required.Commitment to Family-Centred Care required.Must be able to organize and prioritize work effectively.Knowledge of IWK Health fire response regulations required.Competency in other languages considered an asset.Benefits & Employment DetailsUnion status: Unifor Service, Support Bargaining Unit.
