The Township of Oro-Medonte is hiring for its Weekend Road Patrol. This part-time role provides crucial monitoring of municipal roads during winter, focusing on safety and hazard reporting.
The successful applicant will fill two contract part time positions, starting November 2026, with weekend shifts. Your role involves patrolling roads, documenting dangerous conditions like snow and ice, and following proper procedures for addressing deficiencies. You'll also participate in emergency situations requiring quick action.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patrol roads for hazardous winter conditions
• Report and document snow, ice, and road issues
• Call in staff based on established procedures
• Conduct emergency tree removals from roadways
• Install barricades when necessary for public safety
Requirements:
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid ‘G’ Class driver’s license required (DZ is an asset)
• Strong collaborative and independent work skills
• Criminal Record Check needed for employment
• Flexible for both day and afternoon shifts
