The Northern Society for Domestic Peace is looking for a dedicated Support Counsellor. This full-time role focuses on creating a safe and supportive workplace for women, children, and youth in crisis. You will implement crisis intervention, safety planning, and maintain confidentiality while actively participating in community education and program initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure a safe, warm, and trusting environment
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning
• Maintain strict confidentiality with residents
• Facilitate community education programs as needed
• Support residents in accessing health care and legal services
Requirements:
• Completion of grade 12
• Degree in women’s studies or related field
• Experience in crisis management and counseling
• Training in intimate partner violence support
• Ability to coordinate household management tasks
