Position: Senior Relationship Manager / Senior Relationship Manager or Relationship Manager / Relationship Manager - British Columbia.
Employment type: Contractual - 18 months
Compensation details: Senior Relationship Manager / Senior Relationship Manager - Business Development 16: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience, and typically range from $74,297 to $99,063.
Relationship Manager / Relationship Manager - Business Development 18: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience, and generally fall within a range of $96,557 to $128,743.
Workplace: The selected individual can work from EDC's Community Hub located in Vancouver.
Export Development Canada operates a hybrid work model whereby employees are required to work in the office two days a week. Effective September2026, this requirement will increase to three days a week. This transition will be implemented gradually using a phased approach tailored to each employee's workplace. (Subject to change)

Team overview: The Middle Market Group is seeking a Senior Relationship Manager to join its growing team of professionals in British Columbia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the execution of EDC's 2030 Business Plan. Our goal is to help entrepreneurs increase their exports and, in doing so, boost the Canadian economy. To this end, the successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting, developing, maintaining, and managing a portfolio of current and potential clients in the medium-sized business segment.
To achieve this, the successful candidate will identify and assess potential EDC clients, build trusting relationships with them, and determine how best to positively impact their businesses and markets. They will also evaluate cross-selling opportunities with existing clients, coordinate EDC resources to deliver predictable product solutions and service delivery, and promote EDC's capabilities in the region by regularly engaging with financial intermediaries and other influential stakeholders, leveraging and expanding EDC's network to identify new clients.
She will build relationships with some of the brightest and most talented people in Canada and around the world while working with them to ensure the success of EDC's clients.
Furthermore, we want the chosen person to work where they will be most productive: on the road, in the office, or at home. We offer a hybrid work arrangement.
What you will do: Identify and qualify potential customers, and promote EDC's full value proposition to exporters.
Assess export financing needs, risk management or other needs, and find appropriate solutions.
Manage a given portfolio of accounts, and design strategies and account plans according to the territory.
Manage the progress of designated portfolios and help facilitate transactions as needed.




Monitor the progress of the planned transactions and participate in facilitating the transactions, as needed.
Execute projects, initiatives and tasks related to the market coverage mandate.
Develop strategies and plans covering the entire market of the designated territories, incorporating relevant sector and country-related strategies.
To identify market trends and information observed in the territory in order to develop comprehensive regional or sectoral strategies.
Position yourself as a resource person capable of resolving problems with current or potential clients; employ negotiation strategies with clients and manage interactions in a positive and professional manner in the mutual interest and benefit of clients or potential clients as well as EDC.
What we are looking for: Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, commerce, or another relevant discipline
At least 5 years of experience in business development and commercial lending within the international trade or financial services sector
Knowledge of best practices in strategic selling or account management
Network established in the province of British Columbia
Valid driver's license
What will set you apart: Experience in business development within commercial banking services
Experience in sales management in related sectors
Knowledge of banks' credit and lending practices
Knowledge of international business practices and international trade
Holder of an MBA, the Accredited Professional in International Trade (PACI) designation, or the Credit and Banking Operations Analyst designation
Working knowledge of both official languages (if required in the desired work area)
