Become a Peer Services Navigator at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre, supporting women experiencing homelessness in Vancouver. This full-time role is centered on empowering women to access essential services.
In this key position, you will work directly with women in the Downtown Eastside, addressing critical issues like homelessness, mental health, and trauma. Your collaborative efforts with the DEWC staff will foster integrated service delivery while you advocate for clients from a feminist perspective. Your role will involve efficient organization and crisis management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist women in accessing necessary community services
• Advocate for clients using an anti-oppression approach
• Keep accurate records and manage schedules effectively
• Connect clients with supportive referral networks
• Engage in teamwork to enhance overall program delivery
Requirements:
• Requires 2+ years of experience with marginalized women
• Familiarity with issues affecting women in the Downtown Eastside
• Solid ability to work amidst chaos and prioritize effectively
• Proven skills in organization and problem-solving
• First Aid Certification and NVCI are mandatory
