Rate of Pay: $68.00 - $78.00/hr

The Projects organization is responsible for developing and executing a portfolio of major upstream gas projects. Within the Shales business, several growth opportunities are progressing simultaneously through development, execution, planning, and delivery. These projects require robust contracting and procurement leadership to ensure competitive, compliant, and efficient commercial outcomes.

The Supply Chain Lead will support the Shales project portfolio, including greenfield and brownfield projects associated with gas processing facilities in Alberta and British Columbia, as well as other emerging development opportunities. The role is responsible for developing and implementing contracting strategies, managing engineering and procurement contracts, leading sourcing activities, and ensuring effective commercial stewardship throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Technical Authorities, Engineering & Procurement (EP) contractors, Category Management, Construction, HSSE, and Finance stakeholders to deliver safe, competitive, and reliable supply chain solutions. The role requires robust commercial acumen, contracting expertise, and an ability to manage multiple priorities across a portfolio of projects.

The position will initially focus on supporting project development, contracting strategy, and procurement activities. As projects mature, the role will increasingly support contract management, commercial governance, performance management, and execution readiness activities.

Contracting & Procurement

· Serve as the Contracting & Procurement focal point for designated projects within the Shales portfolio.

· Develop and implement project-specific contracting and procurement strategies aligned with supply chain principles and project objectives.

· Lead sourcing activities for engineering services, equipment packages, fabrication scopes, and construction contracts.

· Develop ITT documentation, evaluation models, commercial recommendations, and award strategies.

· Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and contractors to achieve competitive outcomes while appropriately managing project risks.

· Leverage existing enterprise agreements, category strategies,



and preferred supplier relationships to maximize value delivery.

· Identify and pursue continuous improvement, cost avoidance, and commercial value opportunities across the project portfolio.

Contract Management

· Manage a portfolio of engineering, procurement, and construction-related contracts from award through close-out.

· Support administration of contracts including commercial correspondence, change management, claims avoidance, and dispute resolution activities.

· Monitor contractor performance and support implementation of improvement plans where required.

· Ensure contract management activities comply with applicable governance requirements and contract management standards.

· Maintain appropriate commercial documentation, registers, and audit trails.

· Support management of warranties, supplier obligations, and post-award deliverables.

Portfolio Support & Governance

· Support preparation of contracting strategy submissions and governance materials for Supply Chain Councils and other approval bodies.

· Work closely with Project Managers and engineering contractors to identify key contracting and procurement risks and develop mitigation plans.

· Support project readiness activities through timely procurement of critical equipment and services.

· Promote standardization, simplification, and best practices across the Shales project portfolio.

· Facilitate collaboration between Project Teams, Category Management, Wells, Engineering, and Construction functions.

Stakeholder Management

· Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable timely decision-making and successful project execution.

· Engage suppliers, contractors, and engineering contractors to ensure alignment on commercial expectations and project objectives.

· Support integration of contractor and engineering procurement activities with organizational supply chain requirements and governance expectations.





· Influence stakeholders to resolve commercial issues efficiently while maintaining project schedule and cost objectives.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Law or a related discipline.

· 7+ years of experience in Contracting & Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Contract Management or Commercial Management.

· Experience supporting major capital projects within energy or petrochemical sectors.

· Demonstrated experience leading competitive tendering processes and commercial negotiations.

· Strong understanding of:

o Contract management

o Strategic sourcing

o Engineering services contracting

o Construction contracting

o Commercial risk management

o Procurement governance

· Experience managing reimbursable and lump-sum style contracts.

· Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities across several projects simultaneously.

· Solid analytical and commercial acumen.

· Familiarity with SAP, Ariba, Contract Lifecycle Management systems and procurement processes is preferred.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
