Our financial services client is seeking a Full Stack Engineer (10+ years of experience) to design, implement, and optimize electronic trading platforms using Java and low-latency systems

Join a banking technology team supporting a global electronic trading platform within the equities technology space. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and optimizing scalable low-latency applications in a highly automated and containerized workplace. The position offers exposure to global collaboration across distributed engineering teams and performance-focused software engineering initiatives.

Contract, Toronto, Hybrid, 3 days per week in-office. Days must align with team schedule. 4 members on the team that support morning or evenings on a rotation basis.

Must Haves

10+ years developing low-latency systems or real-time software applications

Advanced proficiency in Java including concurrency, tuning,



and memory management

Hands-on work within containerized environments and automated software development workflows

Strong troubleshooting and debugging of software engineering issues

Nice to Have

Using agentic AI for software maintenance

Container runtimes including Podman and Docker with Kubernetes orchestration

Message passing systems such as Kafka and Aeron

Data-driven optimizations including profiling and metrics collection

Working knowledge of CI/CD techniques

Responsibilities

Design enhancements to the electronic trading platform

Implement enhancements to the electronic trading platform

Deploy enhancements to the electronic trading platform

Support applications developed by the engineering team

Optimize existing trading platform components

Collaborate with software engineers across multiple time zones

Reduce repetitive tasks through automation
