Description JOB TITLE: Assistant Director of Nurses (Rhode Island) JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Surgery Center in conjunction with the Facility Administrator. The management spectrum covers planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating,staffing, resource allocation, cost controls, and compliance.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current state Registered Nurse License required.
Current American Heart Assn.
BLS and ACLS certifications also required
GI Experience Required
Registered Nurse with experience in procedures and the operating room, PACU, or Pre-Admission in a endoscopic or surgical setting.
Prefer one year of management experience in ambulatory care.
Basic computer knowledge.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY OF THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSES ARE OUTLINED AS FOLLOWS:
Assistance to physicians through provisions of adequately prepared service team members.
Delegation of responsibilities and duties to professional, technical, and ancillary personnel.
Assisting in the performance evaluations of all department personnel.
Coordination of administrative duties to ensure proper functioning of the staff.
Coordination of the provision and control of materials, supplies, and equipment with the Director of Supply.
Coordination of activity within the Procedure Rooms.
Other responsibilities or activities as determined by the Facility Administrator.
Participates in all activities related to AAAHC accreditation.
Splitting time between staffing the unit and management as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.
Demonstrated communication skills which indicate ability to be successful at counseling, teaching, and assessing.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional journals,
nationally recognized guidelines and regulations.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, staff, physicians, and regulatory agencies.
Ability to effectively present information to staff, management and physicians.
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical
problems.
Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, medical notes,
etc.) in its most difficult phases.
Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
