Job Overview
The Electromechanic specializing in rotating machinery is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing industrial equipment such as electric motors, blowers, pumps, fans, compressors, and other rotating systems. The role also includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance, vibration analysis, troubleshooting, and contributing to equipment reliability improvements.
Responsibilities
Install, inspect, and repair electromechanical equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating machinery.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures.
Perform laser alignment or dial indicator alignment.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
Conduct operational tests after repairs.
Prepare maintenance and service reports.
Comply with workplace health and safety standards.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams.
Use lifting and handling equipment to move heavy parts.
Skills / Requirements
Diploma in Electromechanics, Industrial Mechanics, or an equivalent field.
2 to 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance (an asset).
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency with tools such as a multimeter, vibration analyzer, and tachometer.
Experience with laser alignment (an asset).
Good physical condition.
Mechanically inclined, self‑motivated and able to work without supervision.
Additional job training on the assembly of blowers may be required upon request.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, PLC diagrams, work instructions, safety instructions, operate forklift and overhead crane.
Demonstrated crane and rigging experience, knowledge of rigging and lifting equipment as well as parts that do not have a center of gravity that are easily identified.
Education / Training Required
High School Diploma, or equivalent.
Courses completed in Mechanical, Pneumatics, PLC, Hydraulics, etc. (a plus).
Experience substituted for education.
