We’re seeking a Junior GIS Technician to support the Ta na wa Yúus Stitúyntsam̓ Rights & Title Department at Squamish Nation. You will leverage GIS technology to manage spatial data, produce detailed maps, and enhance interdisciplinary projects focusing on territory management and climate action. Your role will significantly impact informed decision-making within the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Integrate and publish geospatial data through ArcGIS systems
• Create high-quality maps and visuals for reporting
• Collaborate with various teams to deliver geospatial solutions
• Update and maintain GIS layers in multiple repositories
• Manage and support centralized geodatabases
Requirements:
• GIS diploma or degree from a recognized institution
• Proficient in Esri software including ArcGIS Online
• Robust background in GIS principles and analysis
• Experience with Python and SQL scripting
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
