Execute and implement diverse health and safety programs for pipeline projects
Advise operations on Ledcor's Health and Safety Management System throughout the project lifecycle
Support site leadership with safety meeting and toolbox talk materials
Coordinate, organize, and deliver toolbox talks and safety meetings
Monitor compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements
Coordinate and complete safe work procedures, hazard assessments, safety inspections, and focus audits
Inspect work areas and address potential problems with field supervisors
Help ensure adequate supplies of safety equipment, including protective equipment, fire extinguishers, and respirators
Verify compliance with leading and lagging indicators, including subcontractors and corrective actions
Conduct HS&E; orientations for employees and subcontractors during onboarding
Develop and update JHAs based on project needs and HS&E; programs
Audit the quality of field-level hazard assessments
Assist with occupational hygiene practices and medical screening program awareness
Support emergency response plans and exercises
Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and develop corrective actions
Participate in incident management, case/injury management, corrective action tracking, and follow-up
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of project HS&E; plan implementation
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of supporting HS&E; pipeline projects
5+ years of related work experience within the pipeline industry
Must hold a CRSP, Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or NCSO designation
Technical knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipment within Pipeline Construction and/or Pipeline Maintenance Industries
Experience on mountainous pipeline projects considered an asset
Ability to communicate and present information to the hourly workforce and interact with project management staff, clients, and customers
Proactive approach to safety,
including identification of operational and organizational issues and development and implementation of solutions
Experience in risk assessment, program development, safety and health training, and accident investigation
Ability to adapt information and style to the audience and explain difficult information clearly
Robust team player attitude and ability to adjust to changing priorities and demands
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong computer competency, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license and driver's abstract
Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol requirements
Flexibility to travel to and work at various project sites
