Become a K-9 Learning Support Teacher with School District 71, focusing on empowering diverse learners. This role provides essential instructional support and direct interventions for students with unique challenges.
This anticipatory 0.40 FTE position offers a chance to work until June 30, 2027. As a Learning Support Teacher, you'll support classroom teachers by developing inclusive strategies and individualized education plans (I.E.P.s) for students with behavioral and learning challenges. You will also directly instruct and assess students while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and assess students with learning challenges
• Collaborate on I.E.P.s and Learning Plans for students
• Provide direct remedial instruction as needed
• Design adaptive curriculum to meet diverse needs
• Advocate for inclusive practices within classroom settings
Requirements:
• Degree in Special Education or related field
• Experience with early literacy interventions
• Knowledge of educational software like Kurzweil
• Ability to case manage classroom support effectively
• Robust communication skills for team collaboration
