Become a vital part of Northland’s mission to enhance energy reliability as an Electric Reliability Engineer. This role combines technical expertise with collaboration across various operational teams to support fleet reliability.
As an Electric Reliability Engineer at Northland Power, you will report to the Engineering Manager and be key in ensuring the reliability of electrical systems within our North American fleet. You will interact with multiple teams, including SCADA/Operations Performance and IT/OT. Your contributions will foster a reliable energy landscape while requiring some travel to various sites across Canada and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop equipment and facility ratings documents
• Support protective relay system maintenance
• Coordinate with external engineering for testing
• Supervise contractor engineering studies
• Facilitate NERC reliability compliance programs
Requirements:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Valid G class driver’s license
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
• Knowledge of reliability engineering in power generation
• Familiarity with North American electricity markets
