In this essential position, you will report directly to the Executive Director and manage all communications staff. Your role includes developing internal communication protocols, crisis management, and cultivating relationships with local media. You will craft and execute strategies that promote the AMC’s mission through various communication channels, ensuring consistency and clarity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead environmental scans for communication plans
• Create and uphold internal communication guidelines
• Direct press conferences and address media inquiries
• Implement strategies for effective public relations
• Monitor communications department effectiveness annually
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in First Nations policy
• 5 years in a leadership capacity supervising teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid project management experience
