Support traditional healing initiatives as an Aide with Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority. Facilitate community healing and wellness through culturally informed practices.
As a full time Traditional Healing Support Aide, you’ll work closely with the Traditional Healing Practitioner and the Healing and Wellness Coordinator. Your role is integral in managing traditional ceremonies, engaging with First Nations communities, and maintaining sacred healing spaces. A respectful understanding of Indigenous culture and extensive traditional knowledge is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the setup of traditional healing ceremonies
• Manage cleanliness and order of healing environments
• Travel to support community engagement in programs
• Ensure culturally appropriate care of tools and materials
• Assist with various duties that support healing initiatives
Requirements:
• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Minimum education of high school diploma or similar
• Insight into First Nations culture and health priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Flexibility in work hours and travel required
