A. Position Description Job Title: Cantonese Ministry Pastor (Part time)
B. Position Summary Preach, teach, and provide pastoral care to the Cantonese congregation. Support the Staff and Pastoral Team with a spirit of teamwork, mutual respect, and shared accountability. Collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor and church leaders to lead the church in alignment with its mission, vision, and theological convictions. 22 hours/week
C. Qualifications Spiritual & Theological Emphasis
A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, characterized by humility, integrity, and a passion for serving others
Agreement with the church’s statement of faith and mission
A Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological education from an accredited seminary
Candidates who are not MB credentialed must be willing to go through the credentialing process within the first two years of service
Language & Communication
Fluency in Cantonese (spoken and written) required
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with pastors, staff, church leaders, and ministry volunteers, showing respect, humility, patience,



and a commitment to unity in shared ministry
Proficiency in English and Mandarin preferred for respectful communication with church leaders, staff, the multi-congregation community, and the wider community
Pastoral & Ministry Experience
Pastoral experience preferably with local Cantonese-speaking congregations
Strong pastoral skills in preaching, teaching, discipling, and counselling within a church context
D. Responsibilities Preach in Cantonese worship services
Provide pastoral care, including visitation, counselling, crisis support, and spiritual guidance
Teach Sunday School, lead Bible Study Groups and Discipleship Groups, and lead prayer meetings
Provide leadership and support to various Fellowships and Groups
Work closely and respectfully with the pastoral team, Senior Pastor, church leaders, and ministry teams in materializing church-wide vision and development plans
Participate actively and respectfully in staff meetings, inter-congregational collaboration, and denominational activities, contributing to a healthy team culture among pastors, staff, and church leaders
