This specialist position at Seabird Island is geared towards developing and delivering programs tailored to the unique needs of high-risk youth. You will engage youth in positive, structured activities that promote wellness, enhance self-esteem, and develop life skills. Your mentorship and ability to foster relationships will be key in supporting participants’ journeys toward personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement intervention programs focused on positive reinforcement
• Conduct group activities and workshops tailored to youth
• Offer mentorship and develop action plans for individuals
• Engage families to cultivate team-oriented support
• Incorporate Indigenous cultural teachings into activities
Requirements:
• Degree in social sciences or related fields
• At least 3 years working with Indigenous populations
• Strong skills in mentoring and relationship building
• Experience in planning group activities
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture and historical context
