Mino Care is a culturally safe, antiracist, patient centred organization making reproductive, maternal, and menopause health safer and more equitable for Black and racialized families across Canada. We connect families to an integrated community of trusted providers, including doula support, lactation, pelvic floor therapy, and health navigation, and we host MinoFest, Canada’s leading forum for racialized perinatal healthcare.
We’re growing the movement, not just the clinic. This role helps us tell the stories that reach families, funders, and partners, and shift how this country cares for reproductive health.
The Opportunity We’re looking for a freelance communications and PR partner to build and drive our storytelling engine. This is earned media and narrative work, not ad buying. You’ll help shape and place the stories that move people to act, and give our voice reach and credibility in Canadian media.
What you’ll do Own the narrative. Craft campaign and brand stories that carry our mission with nuance and care.
Land earned media.
Build relationships with Canadian journalists, editors, and producers and pitch our work.
Fuel fundraising & partnerships with communications that resonate with funders and corporate partners.
Elevate MinoFest and key moments through coordinated PR and content.
Shape the voice across channels: messaging, key materials, and public positioning.
Who you are Earned media and PR experience. Health, equity, nonprofit, or advocacy a strong plus.
A sharp writer who handles race, reproductive health, and justice with nuance and integrity.
Media relationships in Canada, or the proven ability to build them fast.
Lived or skilled connection to the communities we serve. This is central to the role.
Works independently and comfortable owning scope as a partner, not a pair of hands.
Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
