Title: VP/AVP Location: Montreal, QC Experience: 6+ Mode of Work: Onsite 3-4 days per week Required skills: We are looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong hands‑on expertise in Python, Apache Kafka, and Unix/Linux environments. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain scalable applications, build event‑driven solutions, and work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable and high‑performance systems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Python . Build and maintain Kafka‑based event‑driven applications , including producers and consumers. Work with Kafka topics, partitions, offsets, consumer groups, and message processing. Develop and integrate REST APIs and microservices . Work extensively in Unix/Linux environments for development, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation and operational tasks. Troubleshoot application, Kafka, and production issues and provide root‑cause analysis. Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, DevOps, and business teams. Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and Agile development processes. Follow best practices for coding, security, deployment, and production support. Required Skills Strong experience with Python development .
