Make a difference as a Youth and Family Addiction Counsellor at Vancouver Island Health Authority. This full time temporary role focuses on providing treatment and support for substance use issues across multiple sites.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver assessments, interventions, and referrals to youth and their families. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of substance use and mental health issues, along with two years of relevant counselling experience. You will empower clients to set goals, develop treatment plans, and minimize the harms associated with substance use.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct intake and assessment for youth with substance use issues
• Provide individual and family counselling sessions
• Develop personalized treatment plans with clients
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members
• Ensure high standards of client safety and confidentiality
Requirements:
• Baccalaureate in health or human services discipline
• Minimum of two years counselling experience with youth
• Knowledge of substance use assessment and treatment
• Strong communication and empathetic skills
• Ability to travel between sites as needed
