Reporting to the Executive Director - Advocacy, this position works both independently and within a team setting to advocate on behalf of children and youth on matters brought to the attention of our office by individuals, stakeholders, and groups or by the Advocate for Children and Youth. This position takes a diplomatic, objective, and non-adversarial approach to ensure young people receive the services to which they are entitled. This includes ensuring that governments, agencies, and entities that serve children comply with policy standards and assessing the appropriateness and comprehensiveness of services provided to children or youth. This position also requires experience in facilitating public presentations to stakeholders and young people.
Based in Saskatoon, our services are conducted in a timely and fair manner in accordance with The Advocate for Children and Youth Act, the Saskatchewan Children and Youth First Principles, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, and the Touchstones of Hope for Indigenous Children, Youth, and Families.
