This position supports daily animal husbandry at UBCO, requiring collaboration with faculty and staff while performing essential health checks and maintaining laboratory conditions. You will manage inventory, provide medication, and assist with various procedures under supervision, all while ensuring the well-being of research animals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform health checks and monitor animal behavior
• Maintain cleanliness in the facility and equipment
• Change cages and provide food and water
• Record and manage animal data and inventory
• Help with anesthesia and surgical procedures
Requirements:
• Secondary School completion or equivalent
• Up to 6 months experience or relevant education
• Lab Animal Technician certification preferred
• Robust communication and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg consistently
