Wood's Homes, a not-for-profit mental health centre based in Calgary, seeks a Youth and Family Counsellor on a rotational shift schedule. You will engage directly with children and families, managing cases with a focus on healing and well-being. Your work will include developing routines, goal setting, and providing essential life skills training within a collaborative team atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead therapeutic interventions for youth and families
• Create a structured living workplace for therapeutic support
• Teach daily life skills and personal hygiene practices
• Develop individual care plans in collaboration with the team
• Manage crisis situations using non-abusive restraint techniques
Requirements:
• Class 5 driver’s license
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Diploma or degree in relevant fields with 2-4 years experience
• Experience with vulnerable populations is preferred
